Almond Country Quilt Guild General Meetings
are usually held the first Monday of the month
at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 940 Creston Road, Paso Robles, California - Please see Calendar
The social hour begins at 6:30 p.m.
and the business portion of the meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

Dues
Dues are $20.00 per year and are half the total ($10.00) after January 1st of each year. The Membership Roster is to be published and distributed during the September and February meetings each year. Each member is to receive a Membership Handbook, which includes Guild information and Scholarship information.

Special Events

Small Quilt Auction
This auction is often held on a weekend in May in odd-numbered years. The guild has chosen to focus it's efforts on other fundraising activities in the last few years and has not been holding this event recently. Members make and donate small quilts which are auctioned to the highest bidder. Refreshments are donated. After expenses, thirty (30%) percent of the money raised is donated to charities. The remainder goes into the Guild's General Fund.

"Yes, Mam"Quilt

The "Yes, Mam" Quilt raffle benefits women in the North San Luis Obispo County and proceeds provide low cost mammograms. The "Yes, Mam" Quilt raffle drawing usually occurs during the October guild meeting, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This tradition was begun by founding member Cheryl Cramer whom we lost to breast cancer. Cheryl Cramer is also responsible for most of what is written on this page which she hand wrote out for me, webkeeper, shortly before this site went live.

Birthday Party
This event is a celebration of our existence. There is usually a potluck dinner.

Bi-Annual Quilt Show
There was usually a quilt show every even-numbered year. The first show exhibited in 1992. The ACQG Quilt Show was usually held at the Mid-State Fairgrounds, now called the Paso Robles Event Center. The guild has chosen to focus it's quilt show efforts on our annual event the Seven Sisters Quilt Show, put on with sister quilt guilds, through the Assocoated Quilt Guilds of the Central Coast. The last ACQG Quilt Show was held in 2008.

Holiday Auction
Members donate hand made items to be auctioned. This event is open to the public. After expenses are deducted, the remaining profits are donated to pre-determined local charities.

Associated Quilt Guilds of the Central Coast member guild
Almond Country Quilt Guild is a member of the Associated Quilt Guilds of the Central Coast and has been since it's inception. The Associated Quilt Guilds of the Central Coast (AQGCC) is a mechanism for the quilt guilds of the central coast to work together, fund events and share programs and speakers. The AQGCC was primarily conceived so that the quilt guilds of the central coast could hold a large multi-guild quilt show together, with the proceeds going to each member guild that participates in the show in any one year. The AQGCC allows quilt sisters from across the central coast to come together and exhibit their art and share their love of quilting. That multi-guild show is the Seven Sisters Quilt Show and Almond Country Quilt Guild has been a part of this effort, also, since it's inception. Board Meetings are held at 7:00 P.M. on a designated Monday of each month, at the discretion of the current Board of Officers.
